Anyone who has read Olga Masters' books would know she wrote a lot about food, what her characters are eating or cooking, so it was only fitting there be an Olga Masters' cooking competition on Saturday as part of the festival.

Not only was Olga Masters a great cook but so are all her children, all except Roy who happened to be the judge of the competition.
Admittedly he was only the judge of what was not actually a recipe, but an attempt to recreate the corned beef and pickle white bread sandwich that Roy remembered so fondly from his childhood.
It was Geoffrey Grigg from SCPA who judged the ginger cake and the cheesecake made from Olga's own recipe.
Quentin Masters didn't even trust Roy to manage the sandwich side of it all and made notes alongside his brother!
Each Masters sibling was asked what they remembered most of their mother's cooking and evidently she cooked their favourite meal on their birthdays.
Deb, Sue, Chris, Quentin and Ian chose lemon meringue pie, peach pie, veal casserole, pumpkin scones, salmon rissole, savoury mince, pork and apple pie but most of all the Sunday roast.
Announcing the sandwich winner Roy said he wasn't looking for a boutique sandwich only suitable for cricketers, but one that would be devoured by a front row forward and he found that in the one made by Heather O'Connor, one of the organisers of the Festival.
Mr Grigg announced the winner of the Olga Master's cheesecake as Lara Crew from Bermagui.
