An online auction, music night at Littleton Café and a bumper raffle are all part of the event, which will assist with a growing need for the WRC’s services.
“Services like WRC are local and community-based and are often the foundation on which the rest of the service system stands,” WRC coordinator Gabrielle Powell said.
“WRC is open 20 hours a week and continues to have a positive impact for the community and women by assisting with 3500 requests for support and 1500 attending workshops and activities in the past year.
“The WRC constantly receives requests for workshops and activity ideas that we just don’t have funding to run.
“We are asking the community to support WRC fundraising efforts by buying a raffle ticket and attending the dinner or making a bid on the on-line auction,” Ms Powell said.
The WRC has been running an online auction for two nights’ accommodation at Green Cape Lighthouse Premium Guesthouse donated by the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
To make your bid, email wrcbega@bigpond.com, WRC on Facebook under Wom Ensouth or phone in your bid 64921367.
Bidding closes tomorrow.
On October 31 the WRC will hold a fundraising dinner at Littleton Cafe with entertainment by Heather Black and Damon Davies.
Tickets are $45 and include a two-course dinner plus lucky door prizes.
The fundraising raffle will be drawn on the night.
The raffle includes five “mega prizes” said Ms Powell, tickets are one for $5 or three for $10.
Look out for raffle ticket sellers in Ayres Walkway, Bega, on Thursday from 9.30am-1pm.
Ms Powell thanked every business and organisation that donated prizes, as well as volunteers Coral Whitely and Barbara Dufty-Wilkinson.
