As winter comes to an end, I would like to thank everyone who knitted wraps and squares this year for Wrap with Love.

As in past years, Bobbin Transport has very kindly transported the knitting to Sydney at no cost and I thank them most sincerely.
A total of 85 completed wraps and 397 squares were donated from Eden, Bega and the local areas in between.
The Eden Knitters group and the Probus Knitwits have both been very busy and have made beautiful wraps, which will now be sent anywhere in the world to people in need of a warm wrap.

Well, we went through all the issues about McDonald’s, and now it’s well entrenched in Bega.
If we want McDonald’s to do something meaningful, maybe we can get it to educate customers to throw their rubbish in the bins provided throughout the Valley.
I drive home to Brogo, and there is McDonald’s rubbish along the highway.
I go to the river to enjoy the beauty of nature - and McDonald’s junk is all over the place.
So, let’s get McDonald’s Bega to launch a campaign to keep the Bega Valley a trash-free community.
If Macca's can serve a $2 burger, I am sure they are capable of a little rubbish education.

Must be joking?
“Snap it, send it, and solve it” (Merimbula News Weekly, 10/9) - this is just another sick joke from council.
Whose brainstorm was this?
Was it the general manager?
Was it one of the 240 indoor staff?
Or was it one of the 60 outdoor staff?
Perhaps it was one of the councillors.
Once a ratepayer could talk to a councillor and get something done, not so now.
I complained to a councillor about footpaths, potholes, dangerous trees hanging over some roads, dips in roadways and various rough spots.
This councillor told me to write a letter or shut up.
Do councillors have a code of practice? Doesn’t seem so.
Council workers driving over and around bad road works and ignoring blocked drains - what good would it be taking photos of these many and varied sections.
It would only show council and councillors what they already know.
