It was found out in an area of a paddock that I walk through every day, but I have never seen this peculiar looking item before.
A number of people have put their ideas forward, but I am not sure just where to find out what it is, rather than what it might be.
It's very heavy and one could assume by the weight it was some type of concrete.
However, the appearance and perfect shape don't seem to mesh with that idea.
It fits into the palm of an average-sized hand, approximately the size of a goose egg.
Any input would be appreciated from readers to help identify it as it has us stumped as to what it could be.

Something stinks
Bega council is high and mighty when it comes to getting a much-needed urologist service up and running, crowing about due process and regulations.
This is fine, so how about Bega council do some jumping up and down about a property on Lakeview Drive, Wallaga Lake Heights, which it has allowed to remain not connected to the sewer for seven years.
The old septic overflows and pollutes the lake, the transpiration pit is choked.
The council does not even inspect it periodically.
No infrastructure was installed at the time the sewer was provided to the whole estate.
I sent a letter of complaint years ago and received no reply whatsoever.
It seems council is a law unto itself.

‘Stupid’ decision
The fight to save the Hotel Australasia has been long and hard.
Replacing such an historic building with a supermarket would be an entirely stupid thing to do.
Do any of you really want to be remembered as the councillors involved in letting that happen?
Is that going to be your contribution to this end of the shire?
The Hotel Australasia is structurally sound.
There is community support to restore it.
It would be a good investment for council.
All of you need to do a site inspection and see what it is that you are allowing to be lost.
Council offered the developer nearly half a million to offset parking.
Please use that money to buy the building.
How stupid that you are planning to spend far more than that doing up Eden's main street while at the same time allowing heritage to be destroyed.
Council was remiss in failing to heritage list this building in the first place - something that would have prevented the current fracas.
Council is still way to too slow to list other historic places that have been identified in the shire.
I have really lost patience with council attitude to heritage.
You will be regarded with scorn state-wide if a supermarket replaces the Hotel Australasia.
