Baird takes medical marijuana case to the party room
About time! I reckon someone finally had someone close to them with cancer and saw the benefits!! It's medicinal use not smoking it and having all these crazy chemicals added.
Jacq Smith
If its for medicinal purposes why not? Its no worse than many other treatments out there!
Ang Hutley
its stupid after seeing people affected by6 the drug and even now of a young man who got hooked on it then committed suicide. Mr Baird should go out of his felt chair and see some of the young pople effected by the drug
Malcolm Lucas
Didn't know Baird had anyone left in his party room.

#ThrowbackThursday: Bega in 1973
I was working at the hospital in '73, such a neat building unlike the hodge podge added on, rearranged building that stands there today. I love the little blue Torana, the 'District Nurses' used to drive that if I remember rightly. I enjoy these photos they challenge our memories so often. Thanks

I wasn't born then but those times were when things were sensible .....

I will never understand this mentality. New things are great but gosh they dont just make a dozen or so, there are plenty to go around. I dont even know what is so great about this product...maybe I am just a dinosaur lol

Counter-terrorism raids: Do you feel safe in your community?
You cannot let fear dictate your actions otherwise you have already given up your freedom.
Trevor Miller
We moved from Sydney to get away from the violence. The problem is that a lot of the violence is caused by young idiots drinking then looking to bash someone, it can't all be blamed on "terrorists", we need to clean up our own backyard first

VOX POPS: Conflict in Iraq
Some of our country's proudest moments have been our defence forces in action on the other side of the globe to stop bully's taking advantage of the weak.
Seen that TV ad where they tell you to find a voice and speak up against bullying, well it's time for us to stand up and say "no".
As responsible global citizens we are obliged to not let bullying go unchallenged.
I'd much prefer our defence forces stayed home and knitted tea cosy's for the CWA but that's not going to happen.

Letters to the editor, September 19
I would say council’s routine ability to draw more than the same number to its public forums from a population of more than 30,000 people, showed how well the council is doing. Considering most people attend these public forums to whinge, the council must be doing things right if the poor attendance shows that a lot of those 30,000 people seem content with what the council is doing.
