CLEAN Energy for Eternity in conjunction with GetUp and other organisations in the Bega Valley held a Picnic in the Park at Spencer Park, Merimbula, Sunday lunchtime.
The picnic was one of many rallies that were held around the world ahead of the Heads of State Climate Meeting in New York on September 23, hosted by UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon.
Clean Energy for Eternity founder Matthew Nott spoke of his concern over cutting the carbon tax and cuts to the CSIRO funding.
He also talked about the 50kW solar Farm that will be built in Tathra before Christmas and will be used to power the sewage plant.
The project will cost in the region of $90,000 of which Bega Valley Shire Council have offered $25,000.
The crowd of about 100 people posed for a photo on Merimbula Beach which will be posted on a global website to show support for action on climate change.
