Action from the Group 16 under 18s grand final in Bega on Sunday.
IT TOOK a late field goal from Bega's James Bower-Scott to secure the 2014 premiership for the under 18s Roosters 19-18.
Against the Pambula-Merimbula Bulldogs the game was closer than you could hope for.
Play fluctuated end to end and play ran smoothly for both squads.
It was Bega jumping to an early lead from a try on the left wing, then another to Bower-Scott beside the posts.
However, the Bulldogs fired right back in to the contest and even held the lead for a large part of the second half.
The Roosters scored their third try late in the second half, but the conversion floated wide, leaving the Roosters two points behind.
A penalty to the Roosters with just three minutes to play saw the teams level the odds.
With the return set the Bega squad got to striking range and Bower-Scott slotted a kick between the posts for the Roosters to win 19-18.
