This successful venture is a collaboration between U3A Sapphire Coast and ABC South East Radio.
The first local legend, Ron Finneran, is on the cover of the current phone book.
Mr Finneran, who contracted polio as a toddler, has had impaired mobility ever since.
Despite this, he became Australia's first paralympian skier, and has been instrumental in developing winter sports for people with disabilities since the 1970s.
As chairperson of the Bega Valley Shire’s Access Committee, Mr Finneran is also passionate about promoting awareness of and addressing public space access issues.
Ian Campbell, the voice of the local ABC's Breakfast program, interviewed Mr Finneran.
The captivated audience were treated to a humorous and at times controversial trip through Mr Finneran’s personal life and career, including the obstacles and triumphs.
The next Lunch with a Local Legend will be held in November.
