The new playground will be installed in Bega Park, where an old one was recently removed.
While no plans had been finalised yet, Bega Needs a New Family Friendly Park member Kirsty Umbers said the Bega Valley Shire Council had “assured” her they were in the process of making some.
“I’m hoping to see something shortly,” she said.
“I haven’t been pestering them as I know they are working on it.”
She said Council was hoping to have some plans for public display by August however that date had been put back.
Also, while Council had hoped to have some parts of the new playground installed by Christmas, as the display dates had been pushed back so had this.
Ms Umbers said construction will possibly be done in stages, working on one section at a time until completion.
She said equipment the group wants won’t be the “typical box set park” but one that is environmentally friendly and suitable for children with a disability, and she said the Council was “100 per cent” in agreement with these plans.
Ms Umbers thanked those who had been coming to the meetings for the park, and said Council had been supportive with the process.
