A spokesman for the club said it was “very fortunate” to acquire a grant from the Bega Valley Shire Council allowing a complete overhaul of courts six and seven.
“With the assistance of council’s engineering staff and many hours of planning with John Rheinberger, all the preliminary paperwork and the acceptance of quotes started in January,” the spokesman said.
A new concrete foundation was laid around the boundaries of the court with contractors starting at the site in April to begin laying new artificial grass surfaces.
A number of Bega club volunteers provided support including Bob and Paul Warren, Murray Walsh, Jeremy Wilkinson, Craig Chauvier, Stan Shipton, Brian Richards and plenty of help from night competition players.
The courts were ready for use by the end of July.
The club has also been freshly painted by David Salter and organisers are now extremely pleased with the look of the complex.
Ahead of the competition start, the club will hold a second social-grading night on September 3 for divisions one and two.
Players in divisions three and four will play on September 4 from 6.30pm.
September 10 sees the launch of the spring competition with everyone urged to join the fun and friendly event.

The Thursday ladies competition has also settled into its rhythm.
The third round was played recently and numbers pulled up short as cold and flu spread through Bega.
However, organiser Kim Tarlinton was able to coordinate a number of reserves and got play underway.
Melanie Lockerbie and Lyn Balcomb’s teams played out a 40-40 game draw.
However, Lockerbie’s team picked up the win on sets, 5-4.
Gloria Clarke’s team won on points over Shiralee Goward’s outfit 44-33.
Showers hindered play on Thursday, but play continued.
Lockerbie’s team picked up another win 56-47 over Shiralee Balcomb’s team.
Shiralee was out with an ankle injury and Gloria Clarke stepped in.
Kim Tarlinton also scored a win with a 65-42 game match over Lyn Balcomb’s outfit.
On Thursday Shiralee Balcomb plays Tarlinton, Lockerbie v Clarke and Lyn Balcomb has a bye.
