Featuring new works by Sydney-based contemporary artist George Raftopoulos, the opening will take place Friday night from 6pm and the exhibition will run until September 27.
“George Raftopoulos has exhibited all over Australia and in New York, Paris and Hong Kong,” gallery curator Iain Dawson said.
“He has a special talent of engaging with an audience – he likes to share his view of the absurdity of life.
“In this exhibition he uses paint, collage and digital imagery to reflect aspects of his own life.”
Mr Dawson said this exhibition is very different from the two previous portraiture exhibitions and the target audience is art lovers and artists.
There will also be two public programs with Mr Raftopoulos on Saturday.
Aimed for children under nine, the kids’ collage workshop at 9.30am is targeted at families with young children who want to develop their creativity.
A conversation with the artist at 10.30am is for local artists, exhibiting or wanting to exhibit nationally or internationally and is about the consequences of making a living as an artist.
Events are free but bookings are preferred, to do so contact the gallery on 6499 2187 or gallery@begavalley.nsw.gov.au.
