"He's now sent it off to an expert in Japan..." who will say, "Damned if I know what it is, but it tasted like flounder."

My 3 year old son is obsessed with the TV show the octonauts. He saw this pic and keeps telling us it's an angler fish from the midnight zone lol
We googled it and we were quite surprised

If he thinks rich people are the only people who drive cars id love to see him live off an apprentice wage better yet give up some of his wage to those so called "poor" people

A sincere apology might have undone some of the political damage. This one doesn't cut it at all.

As much as I can't stand the sod, I think it's a pretty commendable effort considering the standards of our current government. Pretty crappy apology but hey at least he tried.

A wise decision that will allow for continued growth of recreational fishing based tourism which is the core of this regions tourism industry and a major contributor to our local economy

So sad to only just hear of this! I was on duty when you had your accident, and saw you finally able to leave hospital many years later, to be independent in your own home. You were an inspiration to many, with such a wicked sense of humor! RIP mate

so sad to hear of John's passing...a lovely bloke who never let his condition get him down...I met him as a teenager not long after his accident and saw him last a few months ago when I removed a possum from his kitchen...he hadn't changed...still the same sense of humour...RIP John.

I can sleep much better tonight knowing that Mr Hendy is trying to sort out the serious health concerns regarding Mr Fluffy (& asbestos for that matter). I certainly hope the potential costs of this cleanup can be afforded considering the perilous state of our fiscal emergency. One can not help think that if Mr fluffy was discovered in Parliament House in Canberra an immediate cleanup would commence and appropriate funds would be found rather than waiting to when Mr Hockey gets the budget back in the black again.

Hmmm............ "about half a dozen" turned up at the AGM from a membership of "around 140"? That doesn't sound like a quorum to me. How can you conduct business and elect office bearers with such a poor attendance at the AGM? To me, this indicates that the business of the BVSRRA is driven by "about half a dozen" people, and the other 134 members don't have much say in the business of the association (or don't really care). Makes you wonder whether the Secretary really has a mandate for his constant whingeing letters to the BDN

Unfortunately I think it's too late for the Kings Theatre. The Civic Centre will become the entertainment hub of this town and the theatre was neglected for so long that it's time has passed. Would take a lot of vision (and money) to restore it now.

I'm sure that people in Bega would love their kids and friends to visit and stay in touch - or at least come back here more often ...imagine walking down the street on a Friday night to a catch a movie?
What are the social hubs in town if you don't see the pub as an essential option?
A revised Kings Theatre could be cool?
