THE Bega Bowlo Fishing Club held a special presentation at Club Bega on August 1 during the Friday night raffles run by members each week.

This was held to present a donation to some very special services in the community, which include $1000 to the Community Carers Accommodation South East Project to help raise funds for the accommodation wing at the South East Regional Hospital, presented to representative Charlie Blomfield.

Also, volunteer of the Snowy Hydro SouthCare Rescue Helicopter Service Shannon Whitford received a cheque for $1000 to help with the continuous service they provide.

The Bega Men’s Bowling Club member Ron George was given a cheque for $500 to help the Grade 7 players who are going to Sylvania for the State Pennants this weekend.

The members of the fishing club work towards making a donation to some charities each year and these funds come from the Friday night raffles held at Club Bega each week.

All the volunteers congratulated the Fishing Club on their most generous donations, with a special thankyou to club president Greig Hayden, treasurer Pam McRae and secretary Simone Blacka.

The club holds their meetings every third Sunday of the month at Club Bega, and new members are most welcome.
