Sue Campbell currently works as the construction site’s compliance officer, but has a background in aged care as a long-time community nurse in Sydney and Melbourne.
Ms Campbell said while the construction of the SERH continues apace, it would be great for the community to get behind a fundraising drive to go towards equipment once it opened.
The drive’s particular focus for donations is a state-of-the-art neonatal crib machine for the children’s ward.
“I'm not too sure as yet how much they cost, but we are aiming for $50,000,” Ms Campbell said.
“We are just hoping for as much as possible so the hospital has some funds to go forward with once it opens.”
