My AFL team Richmond was playing the West Coast Eagles.
At the Commonwealth Games the heats for the 4000 individual men's pursuit was well underway and, of course, there was Le Tour de France which I usually watch for every kilometre.
It was Le Tour that suffered as it was only in the early stages so I kept on switching to the AFL to make sure we were still winning and then across to the velodrome for the pursuit.
As soon as Richmond won – we always come good in the latter part of the season too late for the eight - things became much easier.
I did enjoy Le Tour this year which was odd because if was obvious after the first week in the mountains that Nibali was going to win the yellow jersey and the tour and Peter Sagan the green jersey for sprinters.
I'M RARELY excited by ads but I think the H and R Block one is great.
They're a tax firm and they point out things in a street which have been carefully camouflaged.
It's so well done because no matter how many times I’ve seen the ad I still can't see the elephant against the wall until it moves or the ninja in the crossing.
I CAN understand why the ABC changed its program last Friday week after the Malaysian plane disaster.
The show that was meant to be screened was Secret State.
It was shown last Friday and the first scene had a group looking at what was left after an explosion and then later the British prime minster's plane is blown out of the sky.
This is a great show, don't miss it.
