The performance team was taking part in the National Gym 4 Life challenge representing the Far South Coast.
Despite some tough competition the squad finished on the podium with a bronze medal for its performance.
Organiser, and proud coach, Alison Czolij said it was the group’s “best routine yet”.
“The academy has a lot of wonderful and talented people in our gymnastics-acrobatics family,” Czolij said.
“I am extremely impressed with how the team performed under the pressure, grateful for the help from the students and their families and so excited for the future of Sapphire Coast Academy.”
The team has been hand-picked from the different classes at the SCA.
Czolij said the aim was pulling together a range of skills and abilities to highlight the local talent of acrobats and gymnasts in the area.
As a result, the team is also very diverse, the 10-person strong squad ranges in age from 10-27 years old.
The Byron Bay event is not the only one on the calendar for the squad.
“The performance team will continue to be showcased in the local area for fundraising and charity events, such as the Eden Whale Festival,” Czolij said.
A video of the squad’s performance is also available for fans to watch on the SCA’s Facebook page.
The academy had a break over the school holidays, but Term 3 classes will resume today.
