Bega Valley Shire Council’s community development officer Donna Campbell said it is important to attract applications from people from diverse backgrounds and stages of life and localities who offer a range of skills to ensure the Youth Council represents a cross-section of the young people in the Shire.
“Youth Council members will work together to identify youth community issues, and then work on projects which address these issues,” she said.
“There are several exciting opportunities coming up this year which will enable representatives to develop a range of skills, have a lot of fun, and lead youth initiatives throughout the shire.”
The Youth Council’s term will run from July, 2014 to June 30, 2015.
Nominations will be accepted via email, in person or by post until the close of business on July 31.
