On Friday night (June 27), both Beaten Bodies and The Cactus Channel will be performing at the hall.
As part of its East Coast Royal Road Tour, Beaten Bodies, a nine-piece neo-soul outfit from Sydney, returns with new material.
In support is the 10-piece soul/funk ensemble The Cactus Channel from Melbourne.
Reaching back to the pioneers of groove and catapulting them into today’s rich musical landscape, Beaten Bodies combines elements of jazz, hip-hop, soul and electronic music to forge a sound that is forward-thinking and all its own.
Thoughtful lyrics from Marli Wilde are inspired by the human spirit, woven together with enchanting melodies.
A three-piece horn section rides future beats and deep, multi-layered grooves.
Beaten Bodies released its debut EP in late 2012 followed by a series of small tours and radio play.
Its second release The Royal Road is a giant step forward for the band.
With a sound soaked in lush harmony and its own brand of lilting groove, this collection of songs beautifully demonstrates the group's forward motion and innovative approach to its craft.
It will be an unforgettable all-age event in the friendly, warm – yes, there is a fire – Murrah atmosphere.
The gates will open at 7.30pm and entry is $20 with kids free.
There will be $5 curries and snacks available.
