BEGA Valley Shire Council is currently seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced companies for the construction of a new pavilion building at Dickinson Oval, Bermagui.
The original pavilion was destroyed by fire on September 14, 2012.
The blaze was extensive and resulted in a complete loss of property, including sporting equipment used by many Bermagui sporting clubs including Aussie rules football and cricket.
While waiting for a new structure to be built, there has been fundraising by community groups in Bermagui to facilitate the furnishing of the building once completed.
The Bermagui Seaside Fair committee in particular has committed significant funds to the cause.
The proposed new building is 400sqm including verandah areas and necessary planning consents for the building have already been obtained by BVSC.
Tenders close on July 9 and for further information contact Richard Cunningham at BVSC on 0457 709 868 or email rcunningham@begavalley.nsw.gov.au.
