Initiated by the Mayor of London in 2006, this biennial event is the world’s biggest celebration of all types of dance.
This year sees Australia take a leading role as Sydney Dance Company’s artistic director Rafael Bonachela has choreographed a new large-scale dance routine that will be performed by thousands in Sydney, London, Glasgow…and Bega.
Fling Physical Theatre and South East Arts have partnered with Ausdance NSW to host a Big Dance event in Bega on July 13.
Gabrielle Rose from Fling said having Big Dance choose Bega as its regional location was "really exciting".
"It will get dancers from all around the region - and the world - to connect," she said.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of dance history, rally your friends and join thousands of dancers of all ages and abilities in this free special event at the Bega Showground pavilion.
Big Dance is for everyone – so if you jive, waltz, krump, tap, pirouette, shimmy or even just click your fingers, get involved in Australia’s biggest ever dance event!
Rehearsal sessions will be held at Bega Indoor Stadium this Saturday between 12-2pm and at Pambula Hall on Sunday.
