A dry May finished with a very wet weekend, with many coastal towns receiving a drenching.
In Merimbula, the rain started Friday night, leading to measurements of 18.4mm for Saturday, 10.4mm for Sunday and 30mm for Monday.
Further up the coast at Narooma was even wetter, with 38mm on Saturday, 11.8mm Sunday and 42mm for Monday.
Bermagui copped a similar amount of rain.
In Bega, the Bega and Brogo rivers were running higher thanks to 4.2mm on Saturday, 3.4mm Sunday and 42.6mm for Monday (all figures are calculated in the 24-hour period to 9am).
Unfortunately the system was primarily coastal, and inland towns such as Bemboka only received a few millimetres on Friday and Saturday before recording an overnight total of 22mm on Monday.
According to Weatherzone, there is more rain headed for the Bega Valley later in the week so don’t put away the gumboots just yet.
