The Sea Eagles will be at home at Lawrence Park to meet the visiting Breakers.
Sea Eagles senior coach Luke Taylor said the Breakers will provide a strong challenge.
“Bermi are in pretty good nick and I reckon they’re pretty confident with themselves,” Taylor said.
Breakers coach Brent Ohlin echoed the sentiment.
“We have had a good week on the track so far,” Ohlin said.
However, Taylor said his squad was up for the challenge.
“It’s vastly different from the past, but I think it’s a good thing.
“If we want the points, we’ll have to bring our A game,” Taylor said.
Each time the teams play they go for the “Kenny Jack Cup” - a former player who spent time with both the Sea Eagles and Breakers.
Ohlin said the two clubs had a “healthy rivalry” and expected a good game.
Ohlin said the Breakers would be watching star Tathra forward Brad McBain and also Taylor out of halfback.
However, he said the squad needed all around awareness.
“In the end it doesn’t matter who is playing you have got to look out for everyone so they don’t take you by surprise,” he said.
Meanwhile, Taylor said his squad wouldn’t focus too much on any one player, but hoped for a rounded performance.
“We’re no longer able to leave it up to a couple of blokes, it’s got to be a collective effort,” Taylor said.
“It’s just about getting a role and everyone playing that role on the weekend.
“Our guys are pretty versatile now so it’s just about being ready for any situations that get thrown up,” he said.
Both squads are looking strong for the competition coming of the back of consecutive wins.
However, both coaches are waiting to hear back on suspect injuries, but expect full sides to take the park.
“We won’t be too bad, there’s a couple of suspect ones, but we’ll wait until after training to make the call,” Taylor said.
“We’ll field a full squad, there is no doubt about that.”
Both coaches are hoping to see a big crowd turnout for what they expect will be a solid game.
“We expect a good game of footy,” Ohlin said.
“Hopefully we will get the local community from around Bega and Tathra down there to come and watch.”
Meanwhile, Taylor said the Sea Eagles had a “fortress” at home and was “encouraging supporters to come down to home games”.
The game starts on Saturday at 2.15pm at Lawrence Park, Tathra.
Following the game, the Sea Eagles will host an Aussie rules trivia event in the club rooms from 7.30pm.
