POLICE have charged a man after executing a search warrant and seizing a large amount of cannabis west of Tathra on Thursday.

In early April 2014, officers from Far South Coast Local Area Command commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs around the village of Kalaru.
About 1.30pm Thursday, investigators executed a search warrant at a premise on Russell’s Lane, Kalaru.
During the search police will allege that they seized a number of items including nine very large cannabis plants, $34,800 cash, and 18.75kg of cannabis with an estimated street value of more than $270,000.
A 51-year-old man was arrested at the location and taken to Bega Police Station.
He was charged with supply prohibited drug (x2), cultivate prohibited plant, goods in custody, possess unregistered firearm and possess ammunition.
The man was refused bail to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on Friday.
