The Bombers will be at home at the Bega Showground to the Pambula Panthers.
Club stalwart Alex Nicol said the Bombers are shaping up to be a club to contend with.
“A novelty last year, the Bombers are determined to make an impression on the competition this year,” Nicol said.
Nicol said the Panthers were in fine form after winning the nines tournament.
“The match will be a gauge of how far the Bombers have come,” he said.
Nicol said it was the Panthers’ last-minute goal that knocked the Bega squad out of finals contention and the squad will be looking to take something back.
Nicol said the Bombers had suffered some pre-season injuries which would take a toll on the line-up.
However, they have the numbers and are keen to take the paddock.
Nicol said the team had picked up “a couple of useful recruits”.
The biggest factor for the Bombers is players who were new to the game last year now have a full season of experience under their belts.
“[There was] raw recruits last year who had never played a game,” Nicol said.
“Recent hit outs have shown just how much they learned last year and how keen they are to lift their game this year.
“Expect a much more skilful spread of talent across the field,” he said.
The under 13s Bombers have been given the honour of hosting the first junior match with play to start at 6pm tonight.
The senior game will start at 7pm and Nicol is urging everyone to head along and support the team.
“Full canteen and bar facilities will be available.”
Entry to the ground is $5 with pensioners and children getting free entry.
