Bombers away for junior footballers

Boys from Bega Valley Public School will help make up the Imlay Bombers AFL squad, after impressing at a trial day last week.

Many students from the Far South Coast PSSA region tried out for the Imlay Bombers AFL team at Berrambool Oval.

Bega boys Jordan Gray-Balcomb, Doug Stubbs, Brayden Frith and Isaac Willington will all form part of the squad to travel and compete at AFL carnivals around the region.

Local AFL stalwart Neil Rainbow umpired on the day and was aided by the invaluable support staff of Peter Murphy, Glen Baker and Paul Noack.

Organisers also thanked Alan Simpson for the use of ground and facilities, and SCAFL for their continued support of schoolboy football.

The selected team will now travel to Batemans Bay tomorrow to play in the South Coast Marlins carnival.

Team members: Royden Oliver, Liam Stark, Sebastian McLeod, Ryan Holdsworth, Rocco Lagana, Jak Howker, Caleb Higgins, Cooper Noack, Blake Suter, Max Geaghan, Jonty Dwyer, Jedd Martyn, Kynan Baker, Otis Coyle, Tom Kellar, Harry McAlpin, Lochlan Ferguson, Jordan Gray-Balcomb, Doug Stubbs, Brayden Frith and Isaac Willington.
