About 2:45pm, a Ford Fairlane and a Toyota Corolla were travelling in opposite directions on Mount Darragh Road when they were involved in a head-on collision.
A 23-year-old man, who was driving the Ford, was trapped inside his vehicle and sustained serious head, chest and internal injuries.
A 70-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Toyota, sustained suspected internal injuries.
Both were treated at the scene by paramedics and airlifted to Canberra Hospital in critical conditions.
A 70-year-old man, who was driving the Toyota, sustained a broken collarbone and was taken by ambulance to Bega Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Detectives from Cooma are continuing investigations into the collision and urge anyone with information that could assist with inquiries to contact police.
