NSW Food Authority CEO Polly Bennett on Friday congratulated Bega Cheese as well as Small Cow Farm of Robertson for winning Champion Specialty Cheese for its “Small Cow Blue” exhibit.
Ms Bennett said the NSW Food Authority was a proud sponsor of the event, which recognises and celebrates excellence and innovation in the dairy industry.
“The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW has a long and proud history of supporting NSW producers and manufacturers,” Ms Bennett said.
“I congratulate all of the entrants, particularly those crowned winners and would like to note the strong performance by NSW producers.
“It is encouraging to see local producers performing at the top of their class against a national field.
“This is testament to the quality of the dairy industry in this state and the high standard of our produce.”
The champion cheeses will be officially presented at a Royal Agricultural Society lunch on February 26.
The lunch will be hosted by radio broadcaster Simon Marnie, who recently attended the Far South Coast National Show.
