The Bega Cheese Bega Cup was the feature race of the Bega Cup carnival, held on Saturday and Sunday.
Trained by Mike Petrovic, Laurie’s Love was ridden to victory by apprentice jockey Jason Devrimol.
Afterwards, Mr Devrimol said “it was an honour” to steer Laurie’s Love to the win.
Runner-up was Al Ahmar, trained by Barbara Joseph and Paul Jones, while the Luke Pepper-trained Quichang finished third.
