According to the NRMA’s Petrol Prices and Fuel Watch, the average price of unleaded petrol in Bega on Tuesday was $1.633 per litre.
More than 50 town and cities were surveyed throughout NSW.
A quick calculation revealed Bega was fourth highest on the list – only behind Tumut ($1.649), Moss Vale ($1.649) and Moruya ($1.638).
In comparison, the lowest average prices were recorded in Sydney ($1.519), Central Coast ($1.521), Hay ($1.533) and Gundagai ($1.539).
Petrol prices continued to remain high in Bega on Wednesday afternoon.
The price of E10 unleaded petrol was $1.619 and regular unleaded was $1.639 at the Caltex/Woolworths petrol station on Gipps St.
Regular unleaded was also $1.639 at the Caltex Ezy Serve in North Bega (near the Heritage Centre).
E10 unleaded petrol was $1.619 at the Carp St Caltex station, while regular unleaded was $1.649 at the Newtown Rd station (south Bega).
The NRMA Petrol Prices and Fuel Watch reveals the price of petrol has risen in the past month.
The average price of regular unleaded in Bega on December 15 was $1.605, which was also fourth highest across the state.
