A police media spokesman said Far South Coast detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man and woman at Candelo.
Around 2.10pm Monday, police were called to a premises on Candelo's main street - believed to be the Black Sheep Baa - after receiving reports two people had been found dead inside.
A crime scene was established and will be examined by specialist forensic officers.
Police vehicles remain on scene and the road, between the service station and post office, has been closed as detectives continue to carry out their investigations.
Meanwhile, post mortem examinations will be carried out in coming days to determine the cause of death of the man and woman, whose identities were not released by police.
A report will also be prepared for the Coroner.
