Club member Gemma Harrington said the night got underway with a recap of the club’s history from two club stalwarts.
“Madge Salway gave a beautiful speech on the history of jumpclub and Paddy Otton spoke about his memories also,” Harrington said.
Harrington said the club presented a number of awards including a few tongue in cheek praises for members.
“Awards were given to our dedicated members for encouragement and most improved all the way to best buster of the year.
“This year the buster award went to Scott Whyman for his stack while riding in the Fossils Cup,” she said.
“The Marie Smith encouragement award went to Jessica Clarke this year with Esther Black coming runner up.”
Meanwhile, Dave Lucas was the winner of the Charlie Smith Memorial award over runner-up Raymond Grant.
“Raymond was also voted club person of the year this year for all his hard work and effort he puts into the club.”
With the presentations out of the way Harrington said the club was now focused on its biggest event of the year, the Bega Showjumping Cup which will run from December 27 to December 30.
“This is our biggest competition of the year with some of Australia’s best riders travelling from all over Australia to be here,” Harrington said.
“We are always looking for volunteers and sponsors, so if you are interested contact Poss Otton our club President on 0409 460 413.”
Harrington said the club is running working bees to ensure the grounds are perfect ahead of the event.
“Every Wednesday afternoon from 5.30pm up until the end of December to get our gear and the showground up to standards.
“We would love to see you there,” she said.
