Mac was given the enviable task of taking to the pitch of the SCG on Monday and has since been named in the ACT national squad to compete next year.
Mac’s father Andrew said the ACT reached a solid score of 210 against the NSW All Schools Combined team.
“Mac batted at nine and came in with eight overs to go,” Andrew said.
“He got a start, but tried to flick the opening quick over slips and edged through to the keeper.
“He was gone for nine,” he said.
Andrew said that Mac got to bowl in the final overs of the game, but NSW was too strong on the day.
“All Schools NSW was five down when they passed the ACT score,” he said.
Andrew said it was an “adventure” for Mac to get to play on one of Australia’s most iconic cricket grounds.
Mac will continue playing with Weston Creek and then take up his duties with the ACT national team next year.
