Roads and Maritime Services advised motorists of the changed traffic conditions, with the southern connection to the Bega Bypass, along Newtown Rd, opened to traffic on Tuesday.
Motorists now have two main access points into and out of Bega via the bypass.
This means local road diversions that have been in place since October have been lifted.
Finishing work on the new section of road is still ongoing, including line marking, which is scheduled to be carried out on Monday, December 9, weather permitting.
During work a reduced speed limit of 60kmh will be in place to ensure the safety of workers.
Motorists are advised to plan their journey and follow all signs.
