Attending the dinner were volunteers, members of the Parish Council and Reverend Ross Gear, the Rector for the Anglican Parish of Bega.
Organisers were also delighted to have Michelle and Perry Wittig as their guests from Bega Cheese.
In 2012, Ricky’s Place was blessed greatly by a substantial donation from Bega Cheese.
This has enabled the Anglican Parish of Bega to employ Vicki Hancock as the lay minister for social concern.
During 2013, the parish completed a total gutting and refit of the Ricky’s Place kitchen, bringing it up to a commercial standard.
The parish has been blessed also by many local trades and businesses that have either donated of their time or have helped in various ways.
Ricky’s Place volunteers are very grateful for their help.
Ricky’s Place continues to be supported by Woolworths – Bega, Tura Beach and Merimbula - Pappy’s Fresh Produce, Tura Beach Bakery, TAFE Illawarra Bega campus’s hospitality faculty and Coles just to name a few.
The community also drops in donations of home-grown vegetables and it never ceases to amaze Ricky’s Place where the donations come from.
Volunteers, some who have been there from the start of Ricky’s, still give of their time and energy faithfully to keep the place operating. Some clients have now become volunteers.
* Ricky’s Place is always looking for more volunteers to help as circumstances change constantly for people.
