Bega will face off with the Moruya Sharks in the Group 16 grand final at the Bega Recreation Ground.
After a stunning win over the Cooma Stallions in Cooma last week, a full-strength and well rounded Roosters team is looking forward to the contest with the Sharks.
However, Moruya Sharks coach Neil Williams said he wasn’t worried about facing the Roosters.
“I’m not concerned who we play,” Williams said.
Williams said his team was fit and ready, with a natural affinity on the field.
“I know we have the talent.”
Williams said Moruya was sorting out its tactics as he knew Bega would be bringing its own plans to the game.
“We just have to concentrate on our own game plan and the results will come,” he said.
Meanwhile Roosters co-coach Ryan Apps said the squad was just taking it as another game.
“We are treating it like any week,” Apps said.
“We don’t want to stress ourselves too much.
“We know how we’ve played all year and how we have trained.
“We know the job at task.”
Apps said the Roosters would be taking a tactical strategy into the round to shut down Moruya’s key play makers.
“Their key players are Justin Bell and Aaron Brierley, so we’ve got to try shut them down,” Apps said.
“Bell is a very smart hooker.
“You can’t give Brierley room, he’s a smart player and likes to niggle.
“He didn’t win player of the year for nothing,” he said.
Apps said the Roosters were concentrating on Bega’s mobility over the Moruya big men.
“Mobility of our forward pack is our biggest strength,” Apps said.
“Moruya probably has the bigger pack, but we will move the ball quickly out wide and use what we’ve got.”
Apps said the team was ready for another 80-minute challenge like last week.
“Fitness is one of our strengths, as we showed last week.
“We didn’t want to concede too many points and that’s exactly what we achieved,” he said.
Apps said his team wasn’t getting cocky going into the challenge and expects a tough match.
“We are definitely still underdogs.
“We haven’t beaten Moruya this year, so the respect is there.”
Kickoff for the main event is at 2.30pm.
