A vibrant array of colours will dart and dash around the Bega Valley Hockey fields tomorrow.
Whether it be bright yellow, green, maroon or hot pink, the grand finals of the Far South Coast Hockey Association’s season is assured to be a colourful contest.
With junior games starting from 9am through to the ladies A grade main event at 2.45pm supporters are guaranteed a full day of fast and fiery hockey.
In the mens division a powerful Pambula outfit will look to continue its form as it takes on the Candelo men.
However, Candelo has other plans for the day, pairing experienced with youth and vibrance in a show-stopping match.
Expect to see a tight contest as both teams provide pace in the attack and a strong veteran force defending their respective goals.
Nic Lyons will be solid in the goal box for the Candelo men, while Ray Ryan’s pace on the left wing could see play pressed into the Pambula half.
Meanwhile Pambula will be looking to the leadership of Mark Irvin to call plays and lead from the back.
The men’s game hits off from 1.30pm
The main event for the afternoon is the ladies A grade match between Elders and the Babes.
The Babes advanced straight through to the grand final and are well rested, while Elders had to overcome the Grand Hotel ladies in a hard-fought contest last Saturday.
Elders will look to Leigh Rogers for leadership, while Kezie Apps heads up the team’s defensive array.
Sam Earnshaw in the goal box is a tricky player to sneak past, but the Babes’ Al Christison could be the woman to do it.
Christison is the leading goal scorer in the A grade competition and will be leading the Babes’ charge with plenty of support from Wendy Deighton and Kate Whitton.
The ladies A grade starts at 2.45pm.
In the ladies A reserve the Youstabees are out to prove just the opposite.
In their first grand final, the Youstabees will give it their all after a thrilling win over MGM last weekend.
Trudy Trickey will be out to prove her name, pulling out some moves in the attack.
Meanwhile Anne Pointon will be there spear of Candelo’s assault.
Candelo has a little more experience in its ranks, but the Youstabees have proved beyond any doubt that you’re never too old to have a go.
The A reserve game starts at noon.
At 9am the Bega Ag grade outfit will look to get over Candelo C, then at 10am the Minkey players will display their skills in an exhibition match.
The Pambula Thunderbirds will take on Tathra at 10.30am before presentations for the B and C grades at 11.45am.
A barbecue and drinks will be available on the day.
