TWELVE community scholarships were awarded last Wednesday to students at the University of Wollongong’s Bega campus.
The university held a morning tea not only to recognise the awardees, but to thank the many community sponsors.
Students from the faculties of Commerce, Arts, Education and Nursing were among those who received scholarships.
“We are lucky to have so many supportive community organisations in the Bega Valley,” UOW Bega project officer Samantha Avitaia said.
“Our students are very grateful to have the support of their community in undertaking their studies.
“We are proud that the community values our students and their efforts.”
Both the awardees and the sponsors enjoyed the opportunity to chat over morning tea, discussing studies, plans for the future and work opportunities in the Bega Valley.
