“We’re really happy – with the performers, volunteers and crowd we had about 1600 people through the gates.
“The festival site had an excellent energy and looked great.”
Mr Martin said the creation and naming of the Candelo Village Festival in 2008 was about celebrating village life in whatever form that took.
However, the area has seemingly become a magnet for musicians and artists and their “energy” is rubbing off on their fellow locals according to Mr Martin.
“I don’t know what that musical magnet is, but it’s there and more are moving in,” he said with a laugh.
“Hopefully it [the festival] morphs into something new and wacky and even better in 20 years’ time.”
The organising committee is holding a debrief session tomorrow to celebrate their success as well as discuss the “little production spot fires” that need to be acknowledged for next time.
Those small issues out of the way, Mr Martin said everyone was really stoked with the festival and impressed with the variety of performances, market stalls, food outlets and family-friendly activities enjoyed by so many.
