Marnie makes impression

ABC Radio personality Simon Marnie proved to be a popular figure at the Far South Coast National Show.

Mr Marnie, the show’s special guest for 2013, officially opened the event on Friday night and was happy to meet and greet local residents.

At the official opening, Mr Marnie said he was excited to attend the Show.

“Thanks for having me here at the Bega Show,” he said.

After keeping the crowd entertained, Mr Marnie said “it gives me great pleasure to official open the 140th, 2013 Far South Coast National Show”.

This was the first time Mr Marnie had attended the Bega Show and he told the BDN that he was having a fantastic time.

Mr Marnie said he had enjoyed visiting the Bega Valley with his partner Amanda Brown.

Mr Marnie spent Saturday judging the region’s fantastic oysters in the main pavilion and took on the role of emcee for the Tarraganda Woodies challenge.

The host of the Saturday morning weekend show, broadcast across NSW, Mr Marnie is best known for the program’s “Homies” DIY advice show.
