For a few years now the crowd has witnessed axemen from the Far South Coast, Southern Highlands, Eurobodalla and Gippsland using razor-shape axes to cleave blocks of poplar at astonishing speeds.
This year’s events will be held on Sunday in the shade of the woodchop arena starting at 11am and will include the events categories of junior (under 16) 250mm u/h handicap, junior (under 18) 250mm s/b handicap, ladies u/h 275mm handicap, novice u/h 275mm handicap, novice standing block 250mm handicap, open u/h 300mm handicap, open u/h 325mm handicap, the Ray Sirl memorial championship 350mm standing block and the butcher’s block.
The program will culminate with the blue ribbon events of the tree felling and all-in teams event consisting of under hand, standing block, crosscut sawing, tree climb and tree felling held in the Essential Energy Arena in the afternoon.
