Brad Moon, Alistair Clark, David Jones and Peter Newton sponsored by the ANZ Bank are playing great tennis at present and are assured of a position in the semi-final of Division 1 after defeating the Horizon Credit Union team 29 games to 26.

Sandra Bunce, Bob Britton, Richard Johnston and Maria Caragher really pressed Brad's team throughout the match winning three of the six sets, however, with Brad still playing in top form his team came away with the winning points.

Paul Batten led his LJ Hooker Bega team to a 29/20 win over David Faulkner's MGM Panelbeaters team with some surprising results.

The first two sets were very competitive with each team winning one 6/4 set each, however, Paul and team then lifted their game winning three of the last four sets 6/1, 1/6, 6/1, 6/2.

The last match in Division 1 was between the Grand Hotel and RD Miller Pty Ltd sponsored teams, which resulted in a 36/16 win to the Grand Hotel team.

Hardwire Automotive and Tarra Ford received the byes and thanks to Ian Burns, Paul Metzler, Geoff Metzler, Brian Richards and Rod Sirl for subbing last week.

Chris Sly, Matthew Kimber, Megan Brens and Matthew Stapleton who are sponsored by the Bega Newsagency came back into the winners list in Division 2 with a very close 29/27 game win over the Country Energy team comprising Oliver Batten, Ellen Bethell, Blake Moore and Stan Shipton.

Paul James returned from holidays and led his Momsen Motors team to a very hard earned 30/28 game win over the Kothe Pty Ltd team under the leadership of Laurie Jarvis.

Bob Deighton had a double celebration last week with the birth of a son and a 26/22 game win for his Geoff Metzler Engineers team over Jye Rose who leads the David Scott Electricals team.

The last match in Division 2 was a win to Peter Balcomb's SportsPower team who defeated Malcome Clune's Auto-Pro Bega team 30 games to 28.

Top Video received the bye and thanks to Michael Whitby, Merelyn Davis, Ty Ritchie and Craig Chauvier who subbed last week.

Craig Chauvier who subbed in Division 2 on Wednesday night winning his three sets, carried his good form over to Thursday night leading his Griffith Tierney Solicitors team to a 36/16 game win over Robert Lockerbie's Slaters Fuel Service team.

Craig, Linda Whyman, Adam Griffin and David Matthews really dominated the match winning the sets 6/4, 6/4, 6/4, 6/1, 6/2, 6/1 and appears to be the team to beat for the title.

Beth Bragg and Brenda Montgomery who lead the Caddey Searl and Jarman and EI Pell-Rixon teams battled away all night and at the end of play finished up level at 3 sets 27 games each with both teams gaining 2 points for the match.

Ray Spencer's Barbecues Galore team retained their winning form with a 34/20 win over Trent Barber's Bega Village Motor Inn and retaining the equal leadership with Craig Chauvier's team.

The last match in Division 3 was a comfortable 30/24 game win to Leon Pittard's Mobil Bega team over the Chemworld Chemist team under the leadership of Dominique Rideaux.

The Hayes Haulage team led by Alf Caldwell had the bye and thanks go to Charlie Cameron, Elizabeth Shumack, Alf Caldwell and Veronica Dummett who subbed on the night.

Kylie Ruth who captained the Mal's Pizza Bite team has left the district and has a very capable replacement in Andrew Constance, continued their winning form with a 26/21 game's win over Anika Pittard's PJ O'Brien Electronics team in Division 4 on Thursday night.

Michaela Pittard, Aaron Vandenberg, Sharon Billingsley and Aaron Obray-Jeffery who are sponsored by Eagle Embroidery retained their winning form with a 34/16 win over Mary Hourigan's Rodney Griffin Pty Ltd team.

Michaela and team are holding down second position behind Mal's Pizza Bite and could prove hard to beat in the semi-finals series, which start on May 17.

The last match in Division 4 was a very close contest between the Priceline Bega Pharmacy and the Bega Bolt Barn, who are led by Jason Hinchcliffe and Willie Lucas.

Jason won the first two sets 6/2, 6/4, however Willie and team members Anne Moore, Danielle Burns and Kristina Dummett turned the match around winning the last four sets 6/5, 6/5, 6/3, 6/4 to gain a 30/29 game win on the night.

Special mention must be made regarding Kristina Dummett who is only 10 years old and only subbing for the second time, winning two sets 6/5, 6/3 then going down 5/6 in the third set.

Willie Lucas Lawnmowing had the bye and thanks to Andrew Constance, Tom Mullens and Kristina Dummett who subbed last week.

The Bega Night Competition Committee advise the semi-final series start on May 16 and express the importance of all team members to check the draw and arrange a substitute if you are unable to play over the next few weeks of competition.
