20 Aug 10 | SO, the big day has arrived and we’re off to the polls. It’s lucky someone hasn’t died of boredom or frustration during the campaign. Boredom because of all the inane speeches and mudslinging, and frustration because neither side has really earned the undecided voter’s tick of approval. The battle hasn’t so much been about winning hearts and minds, it’s been about which of the big two parties can outdo each other in the race for the middle ground. Where’s the vision?
23 Jul 10 | IF THERE’S one thing above all else that elections mean it is listening to politicians of all persuasions trot out their slogans. “Moving Forward” from Julia and her mob is already starting to grate, as is “Direct Action” from Tony and his lot.
16 Jul 10 | There has been a recent resurgence in the ongoing debate around obstetric services in the region. I would like to take the opportunity to state the position of the Bega Hospital Medical Staff Council on this matter. The agreed position is that the Bega Valley is best served by a clinically safe and sustainable service provided at a single site.
