All the riders took the opportunity to run some laps on the reworked track during Saturday's practice before camping at the track to be ready for Sunday's racing.
While Mal Cash, Brandon Demmery and Michael McCarthy all managed a podium finish for the day, results were mixed for the team with a very high speed crash ending Marcus Rankin's day early and Jason McCarthy missing the day's second race due to an earlier crash.
All riders praised the improvements that have been made to the track to help with drainage and also to make the track softer and as always the Canberra meeting was professionally run and all the officials did an excellent job.
Some minor adjustments to the team's preparation will only see improvements in results in round two to be held on march 12 in Canberra.
Brandon Demmery will be running in this weekend's dirt track round at the sapphire Speedway tomorrow.
The dirt track meetings are helping Brandon improve his flat corner speed a lot, plus he likes the speed.
After some new sponsors came on board in the week prior to round one, our list of those helping out now includes: Canberra Motorcycle Centre, B and B Aluminium, Nolan's Auto Parts, Eyespy Signs, Tura Beach Bakery, Cincotta's Cold Stores, and Rankin Builders.
We ask that you help us help them by supporting their business.
If you haven't already committed your support this year it's never too late, just give Mick a ring on 64943397.
In other news the team trailers are ready to be dropped off at the signwriters for the final stickers to be added, so look out for them in transit and look for your name if you are a sponsor.
If you can make it to an event let us know and we will be sure to make you welcome.
Come and see the dirt fly as they say.
