HELLO again. As of two weeks ago the Ladies Golf Club has a new committee comprising of the following: President Pat Jones, Vice President Jan Cotterill, Captain Marion Calder, Vice Captain Fran Vercoe, Secretary June Simpson, Assistant secretary Ann Grimmond, Treasurer Daphne Walters, Handicap Manager Judith Storey, Assistant Handicapper Kim Collingham, Publicity Officer Jan Carter (non committee) - congratulations ladies!
Last week I told you that our one and only junior Laura Holdsworth had broken her handicap to 40 and I was wrong, I should have said 36.
A great effort Laura, keep up the good work.
Friday, October 26 the veterans played at Bermagui.
Doing very well and breaking handicaps were Nancye Clegg, 41 to 38, Pat Minett 32 to 26 and Irene Putaansuu 25 to 24 - congratulations girls!
Saturday 27th there were 23 players for the Irish Foursomes competition.
Winners were Wendy Chaplin (30), Lyn Phelps (22), Pat Whitty (37) and Ann Grimmond (32) on a countback from the runners-up Shirley Ramage (18), Norma Heddles (17), Marion Calder (14) and Laura Holdsworth (36) (J) with both teams on 89 points.
Taking home balls were Irene Putaansuu (24), Ruth Hughes (Morisset 29), Lorna Stehbens (16) and Marj Bicheno (30) with 87 points.
NTP on the 6th hole was Norma Heddles.

Sunday 28th the second last round of the “Narmorgui Cup” took place at Narooma with 96 players on the course.
Progress scores are Narooma 200.665, Moruya 198.599 and Bermagui 201.332 with the final round to be played at Bermagui on Sunday, December 9.
Come on Narooma and Moruya, gather the troops as the cup is still anyone’s.
From Bermi we had Ross and Pat Whitty win fourth prize with 45 points on a three-way countback and with balls going to 40 points on a countback Eddie and Lorraine Todman 45 points.
Ron Field-Mavis Coles, Kevin and Nerida Holzhauser 42 points.
Peter Buttrey-Laura Holdsworth, Max and Shirley Ramage 41 points and Jim and Lynette Manton 40 points were our ball winners.
Max had a NTP on the 17th hole and a great day was had by all.
Monday 29th there were 14 players in the 9-Hole Stableford competition.
Vouchers were won by Julie Harrison (12) with 12 points, Gloria Gay (16), Ursula Ludwig (14) with 10 points, Josie Mead (14) and Joan Maxwell (11) with 8 points.
Tuesday 30th we had seven of us at Tuross Head for the Ladies Open.
This was won by Barbara Kennedy (6) of Moruya with her 79 scratch score - congratulations Barbara.
From us Jan Carter (21) was handicap runner-up in Division 1 on a countback from Ruth Walsh (23 Tuross) with 72 nett.
Marj Bicheno (30) with 69 nett won the visitors trophy and a NTP for Division 2 while Nancye Clegg won a NTP for Division 3.
Balls went to 69 nett. Congratulations girls.
Tuross is looking the best I have seen it and is a credit to them all.
Wednesday 31st it was Stroke and Putting with May Blacka and Judith Storey playing off for the 9th club medal.
May crashed on the last hole to let Judith take the last medal for 2001.
Judith finished with 73 nett against May’s 75 nett - congratulations Judith.
With 41 players in the competition there were some really low scores.
We haven’t seen scores like these for such a long time.
Division 1 winner was Jill Blacka (24) with 70 nett on a countback from the runner-up Norma Heddles (17).
Balls were won by Shirley Ramage (19) 71 nett, Nerida Holzhauser (22) 72 nett and Judith Storey (19) 73 nett.
Division 2 was won by June Simpson (30) with 67 nett, runner-up was Shirley Egleton (33) 69 nett on a countback from Jean Peters (31) who won a ball along with Wendy Chaplin (30) 71 nett and Marj Bicheno (30) who got hers on a countback from Pam Cowderoy (31) with 73 nett.
Division 3 was won by Ann Bell (45) with 67 nett, Runner-up was Dawn Kenyon (37) 71 nett.
Ball winners were Bertha Wilton (38) 73 nett, Shiela Walker (35) and Rita Beardsmore (38) with 74 nett.
Best with her putter was Pam Cowderoy with 27 putts,
NTP on the 8th hole was May Blacka and on the 11th hole it was Marj Bicheno.

Even more broken handicaps this week belong to June Simpson 30 to 28, Ann Bell 45 to 42, Shirley Egleton 33 to 32 and Jean Peters 31 to 30.
Congratulations girls that was some really great golf.
Note a programme change - Saturday, November 10 will be “Cross Country”. Bring lots of balls and your sense of humour it is really good fun.
Sunday November 4 Medley Stableford, shotgun start 10.00 for 10.30am and afternoon tea please.
