A contemporary dance, "Rose-Hood" opened the program, choreographed by Shannon Parsons, with additional choreography by Colleen Meessmann
It old the story of a young girl who leaves the safety of her country home and travels to the city where she is confronted by many different types of temptation and danger.
The four main roles had two dancers performing the part, one of the Friday night and the other on the Saturday matinee. Grace Jones and Leah Jones danced Rose-Hood, the Cousin was danced by Emma McGarry and Karena Gaal, the Prince by Patrick Meessmann and Dale Polglase and the Head Street Rat by Claire Phillips and Sophie Nichols Austin.
It is the street rats that Rose-Hood first encounters and these mischievous little creatures were Lottse Collins, Jessie Waterson, Natalie McGarry, Jasmin Braumin, Katie Brauman, Thalia Aconley-Jones, Alex Povel, Lia Freedman, Mannon Collins, Zoe Rogers, Sophie-Mae Price.
The colourful disco was next with Sally Byrnes and Tarryn Lucas dancing the disco queen at different performances.
The dancers were Georgia McCartney, Molly Carrol, Megan Bowerman, Chloe Forrest, Lily Needs, Alara Freedman, Tammy Pauline, Shae Horcika, Brianna Smith and Terri Schultz.
Nest came the drummers to bewilder Rose-Hood - Madeline Bethell, Kate Warby, Georgia Emanuel, Kelly Wheatley, Emerald Cahill, Jenna Goodlock, Laura Kite, Kayla Maybury, Rachel Smith, Lily Warby, Erin Waterson and Rhys Kite.
The Tap dogs, or should it have been tap pups, stamped their way into the audience's hearts and they were Kate Warby, Georgia Emanuel, Lily Warby, Stephanie Hambley, Tammy Pauline and Jack Pyke.
The playground children were next with Hayley Ridden, Chloe Lukas, Sarah Halin, Meg Warby, Erin Hayman.
Patrick Meessmann and Dale Polglase both took their turn at the Bikie Dude with their Bikies Andrea Hayman, Bonnie Needs, Karena Gaal, Sian Wong, Amy Blanchfield, Sophie Nichols-Austin, Georgia Nichols-Austin, Ellie Brooks, Claire Phillips, Maddison Phillips and Sally Byrnes.
The robotic suits were next with Emma McGarry, Stephanie Tatzenko, Patrick Meessmann, Naomi Hayman, Ruby Dwyer, Sophie Miller, Juvette Jory, Tarryn Lucas, Lalynne Smith, Chrissy Smith, Natalie Osborn, Estelle Jones, Brodie Linehan, Grace Jones, Leah Jones and Rachael Bowerman.
The finale completed this very entertaining contemporary dance.
After interval it was the "Coppelia Dances".
Most of the dances presented were performed by the senior students from the original choreography by Marius Petipa and Enrico Cecchetti from the ballet "Coppelia".
Additional choreography was by Colleen Meessmann, Lee Pemberton and Jan Redman.
The story begins at the village where Swanhilda and her friends are celebrating the arrival of spring.
Swanhilda and her friends have entered the doll maker's workshop where they encounter a number of life-like dolls, in particular the beautiful Coppelia, the girl with the enamel eyes.
The third scene opens at midnight and when dawn arrives the villagers celebrate with a prayer.
They dance the traditional polonaise as a celebration of spring.
In Act One the Csadas was danced by Catherine Vance, Chloe Waugh, Jamie Jamieson, Jodie Hinde, Julie Baker, Emma Weeks, Stephanie Florentine, Carly Muller, Jenna Carracher and Katherine Harley, the Mazuka by Bonnie Needs, Amy Blanchfield, Katerina Arbon, Hanna Muller, Leah Reckord, Juvette Jory, Sian Wong and Stephanie Tatzenko and the Valse and Variations by Catherine Vance, Chloe Waugh, Jamie Jamieson, Jodie Hinde and Julie Baker.
In Act Two in the doll maker's workshop the village girls were Catherine Vance, Chloe Waugh, Jodie Hinde and Julie Baker, the dolls Sharnin Hill, Chante Connolly, Renia Korvin, Alex Davies, Lilianna Kleber, Anni Fitzner, Jasmyn Carter, Sally Higgins, Lottse Collins, Hannah Little, April Fitzclarence, Meg Warby, Mollie Kampman, Niamh Nicol, Chelsea Deacon, Sanna Jeffreys and Rebecca Ellis.
The Scottish Dolls were Lilly Needs, Chloe Forrest, Manon Collins, Jasmin Wilcocks, while Amy Blanchfield performed the Scottish sword dance solo.
The Spanish Dolls were Imogen Weafer, Olivia McPherson, Meg Record, Tammy Pauline, Larissa Skeen and Kalinda Clarke and the flamboyant Spanish solo was danced by Stephanie Florentine.
Coppelia was danced by Jamie Jamieson.
In Act Three in the midnight scene were Catherine Vance, Chloe Waugh, Jamie Jamieson, Jodie Hinde, Julie Baker, Emma Weeks, Stephanie Florentine, Carly Muller, Jenna Carracher and Katherine Harley.
Dawn was danced by Catherine Vance and Chloe Waugh and Prayer by Jodie Hinde.
The delightful flower girls were Tia Filmer, Samantha Gordon, Ellie Parker, Laura Collins, Rachel Young, Madeline Tolhurst, Isobel Ellis, Tara Kampman, Micalah McCulloch, Sarah Lucas, Juliette Bethell, Kira Ison and Jesse Heaton.
Swanhilda was danced by Julie Baker and the flower polonaise by Lilly Needs, Chloe Forrest, Manon Collins, Jasmin Wilcocks, Imogen Weafer, Olivia McPherson, Meg Reckord, Tammy Pauline, Larissa Skeen and Kalinda Clarke.
Catherine Vance, Chloe Waugh, Jamie Jamieson, Jodie Hinde, Julie Baker, Emma Weeks, Stephanie Florentine, Carly Muller, Jenna Carracher, Katherine Harley, Bonnie Needs, Amy Blanchfield, Katerina Arbon, Hanna Muller, Leah Reckord, Juvette Jory, Sian Wong and Ruby Dwyer danced the polonaise.
The reprise had the whole cast including some very tiny little dancers who enchanted the audience with their antics.
The lighting design was by Rob Rogers with set construction by Dom and Gunther Meessmann.
The artwork was by Lisa Finneran.
Lee Pemberton and Colleen Meessman were stage managers and front of house was Paul Hopper and Vince Weafer, Lily Nicholson and Jessica Bramley Alves, Sebastian Rideaux and Brayden Zirkler).
The costumes were quite wonderful and thanked for their work were Jan Redman, Kerry Vance, Belinda Muller, Yvonne Stephanie's grandmother, Sue Pauline, Cassey Hooper, Gillian MacMillan, Leanne Carter, Patty McCartney, Justine Forrest, Niva and all the mothers and friends.
With such a huge cast mothers, fathers and helpers were needed backstage and these were Elspeth, Megan Filmer, Sue, Tina Deakin, Eileen Reckord, Cassey Hooper, Trish Warby, Jon Fitzner, Sonia Ellis, Pauline Aconley, Pete Filmer, Leanne Carter, Ann Marie Carrol and Patty McCartney.
After the Saturday performance certificates of achievement and scholarships were announced.
The scholarships were awarded to:
Senior classical Catherine Vance, senior contemporary Naomi Hayman, junior classical Olivia McPherson, and junior contemporary Natalie McGarry.
