"Work Conquers All" is Bega High School's motto, and 2003's Year 12 students have taken it to heart with some multiple award winners announced at the 2003 Higher School Certificate Presentation and Award Ceremony last Thursday.

Kathleen Bannon, Tara Nichols and Rune Richardson Plasto gained awards for Academic Excellence.
Kathleen Bannon gained certificates of merit in English Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1 and Visual Art (the Bega valley Art Gallery Award).
Tara Nichols gained certificates of merit in Community and Family studies and History Extension.
Rune Richardson Plasto was awarded a certificate of merit in Drama, English Extension 2 (The Bega District News Award) and she was jointly awarded the Magpie Music Award.
Awards for Meritorious Achievement went to Nicholas Dowman (joint winner Magpie Music Award) Jyoti Funston (Senior Science, joint winner SRC Award, 17+ Female Cross Country Age Champion) Daniel Howe (Chemistry, Physics - the Tathra Beach Bowling Club Award) Kate Jameson (Ancient History - Excellence in History Award; Hospitality (VET) Mathematics (joint)) Sarah Marshman (Biology, Earth and Environment Studies -Elgas Ltd Science Award), Vanessa Parker (English Extension 1- Bega District News Award), Tara Ringland (Legal Studies - Sautelle and White Solicitors Award), Tahlia Stafford (Economics - the LJ Hooker Award, PD/Health/PE), Amanda Sutherland (Geography - Kevin McLean Memorial Award)) and Apanie Wood (Mathematics (joint) SRC Award (joint).
Bega High School Canteen Committee Year Adviser's Awards went to Allira Atwill, Renee Gill, Rebecca Mace and Laura Pearce.
Rebecca Mace also gained a Certificate of Merit in Mathematics General.
CanTeen Awards were gained by Grant Jessop, Glynn Lucas and Nicholas Snell. Grant Jessop and Glynn Lucas gained joint Certificates of Merit in Sport Lifestyle and Recreation, and Grant Jessop is also the 17+ Male Bega High Cross Country Age Champion.
Nicholas Snell also gained the Bega Cheese Award for Agriculture.
William Whitby and Tammie Bastian gained IMB Sports Awards; William Whitby is also the 17+ Male Bega High Athletics Age Champion.
Christian Bonney gained the Barry Moffitt Transport Award for Construction (VET) and Genaro Clifton-Collins gained the Bluewater Windscreens Award for Industrial Technology (Wood).
Macey Upward was awarded the Stephen R Clarke and Associates Award for Mathematics Extension 2, and gained a Certificate of Merit in Info Processes and Technology.
Naomi Parker gained the Caltex All Rounder Award, the Excellence in Photo-Video Award, Certificate of Merit in German Beginners and was also jointly awarded the SRC Award.
Excellence in History Award was gained by Renae Shaddel, and Mariclare Malone gained a Certificate of Merit in English Standard and Retail (VET).
Jodie Howard gained her Certificate of Merit for Food Technology and Tate Dawson took a Certificate of Merit for German Extension.
Eloise Firth gained the Gary Nairn Leadership Award and was also jointly awarded the SRC Award.
Grant Heino and Gretchen Benny also received joint SRC Awards, and Grant Heino also took the Bob Ware Award.
The ASSPA Education Award went to Yolanda Norris and Cara Jory gained the Mission Employment Award.
Hayley Woods was the 17+ Swimming Age Champion.
TAFE TVET Excellence Awards went to Brooke Johnson and Skie Rao (Tourism Year 12 High Achievement) Ben Hayden (Automotive Year 12 High Acievement) Brock Scullin and Mark Mills (Most Improved) Melissa Wheeler (Business Services Year 12 High Achievement) Kyla Abraham and Peta James (Most Improved.)
