The fruit cakes were produced by Cake Decoration course students Natalie Ingram and Ann Grant under the watchful eye of teacher Trish Beasley and should prove to be a popular dessert at the lunch.
Ricky’s Place at St John’s Parish Hall in Bega hosts needy and homeless people, providing up to 100 meals a week, with Bega TAFE donating freshly prepared food from its hospitality courses.
“Throughout the whole year these wonderful people at TAFE provide us with top quality food and that’s been fabulous,” Ricky’s Place spokesman Ross Williams said.
The lunch will be held on Christmas Day from noon until 2pm with a cold buffet served and presents for all who attend.
“If people have no place to go or are on their own and need cheering up, they can give us a call and we’ll set aside a place for them at the lunch,” Mr Williams said.
To make sure everyone is catered for, Mr Williams asked that bookings be made no later than Thursday, December 23 by phoning 6492 5555 between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
