TEGAN Lloyd’s family is concerned that people are giving donations to a Pambula appeal thinking they are helping Tegan, who was badly injured in the road accident near Eden on Sunday, January 31.
A spokesperson for the Bemboka family said “we haven’t asked for money and we are distressed to hear that some people have donated money to the Pambula appeal and have told us they did it to help Tegan.
“The story in the BDN last Friday states ‘the appeal aims to provide assistance and support to the families of the teenagers killed or seriously injured in this tragic crash’ but later says moneys raised ‘will establish education programs, peer support and youth mentoring for the youth of Pambula and Merimbula’.
“Our family wants to make it absolutely clear that we are not asking the public for donations although we do appreciate that they would want to help, but we have absolutely no connection to the Pambula appeal,” the spokesperson said.
