Bega Chamber of Commerce and Industry president, Mr Robert Hayson, said he had been stunned by the number of nominations received, in both the business and individual employee categories.
He had been particularly impressed by the number of nominations for apprentices and trainees and expected that the judges would consider a special category for them, he said.
Mr Hayson said a judging panel of five would be appointed to sort the nominations into categories and then to select finalists.
The finalists will be named in the Bega District News on Tuesday, October 2, and the winners announced at a gala dinner in the Bega RSL Club on Saturday, October 20.
Nomination forms are available from businesses around the town and nominations close on August 24.
“It is not the number of nominations a business receives that counts - one nomination is enough to have your business or your employee considered by the anonymous panel of judges,” Mr Hayson said.
