Old time dance
The Bega Old Time Dance Club will hold a dance tomorrow (Saturday) in the Bega RSL Club auditorium.
Everyone is welcome and tea and coffee will be available.
Take a plate, a friend and your dancing shoes for a great night of fun.
The ever-popular Black Rose Band will be playing and there will be lucky door and Monte Carlo prizes.
Children are welcome.
Remembrance Day
Members of the Bega RSL Sub-branch will hold a barbecue at the Lions Park, Mogareeka, next Friday, November 10.
There will also be a short commemorative service at the Tathra War Memorial at 11.30am followed by the barbecue.
Take along your own drinks, plate and cutlery - cooked meat and buttered bread will be supplied.
There will be musicians to entertain and there will be a small charge for charity.

Portrait exhibition
Local artist Wendy Neville of Tantawanglo is one of 15 artists exhibited in the Lexus Mortimore Portrait Exhibition.
The competition offers $18,500 in prize money and encourages artists to 'capture character in any medium'.
Wendy Neville submitted her pencil drawing of Norbet Kacharski, "The Gentle Stonemason".
Wendy says her parents were always supportive of her artistic talent.
"Dad painted with Kirkland in the mid-40s and later gave me his paint set and my mum kept encouraging me to follow my dreams and realise my passions - and still does," she said.
The Lexus Mortimore was judged by Paul Delprat of Julian Ashton Art School with John MacDonald, art critic for Sydney Morning Herald, and Roger Fletcher, CEO of Fletcher International, as assistant judges.
Spring fair
The Bermagui Public school will hold a spring fair on Saturday, November 18, from 10am to 3pm.
Ride all day tickets are being presold for $20 or will cost $25 if purchased on the day.
There will be lots of amusement rides, an art exhibition, face painting and more.
There will also be camel and pony rides.
Amusement ride tickets are available from Bermagui Public School, Miracles By The Sea, Corky's, Benny's Butchery Cobargo and Tilba Public School.
Garden club
The next meeting of the Bega and District Garden Club will be held on Saturday, November 11, at 1.30pm at Jan Ward's garden, Upper Brogo Road, Quaama.
Take along bring a cup, plate of afternoon tea to share, and an item for the trading table.
For the competitions a plate of veggies, a cut flower or a floral arrangement of your choice.
Diabetes
The Merimbula Support Group of Diabetes Australia will hold their next meeting at the Merimbula RSL Club on Tuesday, November 14, at 1.30pm.
The topic will be aged care services and how to deal with on going care when the need arises.
The guest speaker will be Basil Smagala from Pambula Community Health Centre.

Naming day
Asha Halpin's family gathered recently to celebrate her naming day and the birthdays of her Nan and Pop, Jan and Merv Griffin and her great uncle Kevin Griffin.
The family thanks Norma Hayes for officiating the last Halpin baby naming ceremony.
At a naming ceremony for Asha Halpin were her extended family Sheelagh Belcher, Marny, Donna and Grayson Cummings, Jan and Merv Griffin, Shane Cummings, Kevin Griffin, Ben Tetley, Bronte, Bridie, Carrie-Anne,Danny, Seannade and Asha Halpin and Michael Tetley.
Asha's godparents are her Aunty Donna and Uncle Shane Cummings and Aunty Chalice Halpin.
Evening VIEW
The Bega Evening View Club will hold its next dinner meeting on Thursday, November 9, at 7pm for 7.30pm start at the Tathra Beach Bowling Club.
As this is Melbourne Cup Week, members are asked to wear a fancy hat that you could wear to the Cup. There will be a prize for the best hat.
Anyone who has any spare photos taken at a View Club function this year is asked to take them to this meeting for the club photo album.
Viewpoint for November is "My Most Treasured Object".

Dragon boaters
Members of the Zen Dragon Boat Club and their friends enjoyed a fundraising dance at Twyford Hall on Saturday, October 21.
The band was an outstanding success with Tracey Butters magnificent on vocals, Scott Lipsham, Peter Heaton and Colin Butters on guitar and Joe Fragnito on drums.
The band formed just to play at the dance and no one could have asked for any thing better.
Prizes for the night were donated by local businesses and the club thanks them all.
The dance was organised to help the team going to the Pan Pacific Masters Games with the cost of registration.
As the night was such a success money left over will go to the club to help with purchasing safety equipment.
The club paddles on Merimbula's Top Lake and in summer coming the boat will be out on the water four days a week.
Social paddling is on Tuesdays at 6pm, Saturday afternoons at 3pm and Sunday mornings at 9.30pm.
The more intense sport paddling is on Thursdays at 6pm and Saturday afternoons at 2pm.
Arrive 15 minutes earlier to warm up.

Tathra carols
The Tathra Community Carols will be held at Wambiri, Tathra, on Sunday, December 17.
The barbecue will fire up at 6pm with a sausage sizzle, tea, coffee, Christmas cake and cordial for the children.
The carols will take the same format as last year with the Valley Harmony Choir, the Bega band, a Choral group from the Uniting Church and hopefully Heartsong all playing a part in the evening's program.
The Tathra Fire Brigade will be present for both the young and young at heart, displaying their pumpers to the delight of the children.
During the evening there will be Glow Sticks on sale, plus the usual sweets and ice blocks for the children.
Take along a chair or rug and settle back for a night of carol singing to introduce the coming Christmas season.

Bega Primary School will hold a cake and handicrafts street stall in the Church Street kiosk on Wednesday, November 8, from 8.30am
This is a fundraising activity for the school.
